Pootle is a free and open web environment for translators. It enable us to translate movie subtitles, web page content, presentations, .ODF files, menus, text components of .PDFs and many other things. The translator interface is very simple. Just choose a language or project title, click, and translate. You no longer need to worry about the document layout. Pootle will automatically perform the substitution and place the translated content in their correct positions within the files. Proofreading is implemented. Also, Pootle has a historical record.
This software is used by communities around the globe as a standard for translations. It should significantly speed up progress and make the translators' tasks very easy. Just check out how simple it is.
